How to Figure Out Whether You Have It and How to Turn It On Snapchat
Snapchat has a dark mode, but not everybody can do it right now. Here’s how to see if your phone’s software supports dark mode and, if it does, how to activate it. While the Snapchat app has a dark way, not all users can reach it, let alone turn it on or off.
In recent years, dark modes and themes have been standard features, and many applications now have their models. Not to mention, the central operating systems now have more system-wide options for shifting the phone’s overall theme from light to dark.
There are some drawbacks to using a dark mode rather than a light theme. For one thing, it’s better on the eyes, which is particularly true when using a smartphone in a dimly lit setting or at night. On the other hand, dark themes will reduce battery pressure, theoretically allowing a smartphone to last longer before having to be recharged.
In the Snapchat app, there is a dark mode option, although it appears that the company is only testing it with a select group of customers. Since there is no obvious indicator of who has keys, the only way to see if a dark mode is available is to search for it in the App. Fortunately, this is a straightforward mission.
However, it seems that it is only available for iOS devices, so Android users can generally disregard it for the time being. The update is believed to have begun rolling out on iOS in early January. Reddit users participating in the Android Snapchat beta were still complaining that there was no dark mode available last week. However, that does not seem to be the case that being a beta tester is needed for the iOS update.
How to Detect Dark Mode and Use It
The dark mode choice is included in the Snapchat app’s settings. Open the App, tap the profile picture in the top left corner, then, in the top right-hand corner, press the settings (cog) icon to open the settings bar. When the configuration menu appears, scroll down to look for the App Appearance portion.
It’s a positive thing if it’s there. By tapping on App Appearance, the user can access the dark mode menu and activate or disable the darker theme.
Often Bright, Often Dark, and Match Method are the appropriate choices. The first two are relatively basic, as allowing the always light or dark option merely instructs the App to show in a lighter or darker theme at all times.
