To train for war in an intense desert climate, the PAKISTAN’S MILITARY army conducts a month-long exercise in the Thar Desert in Sindh province, the military said in a statement.
The exercise began on January 28, codenamed ‘Jidar-ul-Hadeed.’ It has scheduled to end on February 28, it said last night in a tweet.
“The four-week long cautious move means to approve the thought of guard in deserts,” the assertion said.
Karachi Corps troops perform tactical drills and procedures as part of the training. The Army said that the exercises has carried out under harsh desert conditions. They were about 74 kilometers ahead of Chhor in Sindh during conventional operations.
At Chhor, which is 165 km from Hyderabad, Sindh, the Army has a Desert Warfare Academy. The foundation of the school was led in 1987 to encourage desert warfare. The Thar Desert is an arid area of more than 200,000 sq-kms. Besides, it is forming a natural frontier between India and Pakistan along the boundary.
A week-long multinational naval drill organized by PAKISTAN’S MILITARY began in the Arabian Sea on Friday.
The exercise, a biannual affair since 2007, started with a flag-raising ceremony, media reports said. Additionally, they said that with some 45 nations in Aman-2021 from February 11-16, including the US, Russia, China, and Turkey.
